Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional service to patients while managing administrative tasks within a medical office environment. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency in medical terminology, and the ability to navigate various electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional manner, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information.
- Handle medical collections and billing inquiries, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, utilizing EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, and Simple Practice
- Assist with medical coding using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and ensure proper documentation for care plans.
- Provide administrative support by answering multi-line phone systems, responding to inquiries, and managing correspondence.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness before submission to insurance companies or other entities.
Skills
- Proficient in medical terminology and coding (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT).
- Experience with EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Eaglesoft, and Simple Practice.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical billing practices.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Previous experience in medical office management or as a medical receptionist is preferred.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
